Tina Samuels
A full time freelancer writer for over 20 years, Tina Samuels+ specializes in health and gardening. She's written the 2005 book A Georgia Native Plant Guide and has written over 11,000 articles for web and print. Gardening topics in her portfolio include plant profiles, garden collections, and "meaning of" articles.She has been writing health articles since 1993 and gardening articles since 1995.
She is the Topic Editor at Suite 101's Mammals and Flower Gardens, belongs to the Georgia Botanical Society and the Georgia Native Plant Society, and blogs at the U.S. Native Plants blog. She is also a volunteer Data Collector for the Native Plant Information Network portion of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
Currently she is at work on two new native gardening books for future release. She has two ebooks, Drought Tolerant Gardening: Plants for Desert and Water-wise Gardening and Native Gardening with Indigenous Plants. The Native Gardening with Indigenous Plants ebook also has a section on starting a seed swap and potting soil recipes for the gardener.
Her article "How to Make Potting Soil" was distributed in Cedar City, Utah in a Master Gardening class and others classes have enjoyed "How to Test Soil". Her gardening articles have appeared in GardenGuides.com as well as "Mature Years", "Arthritis Today", and "Alabama Living".
